Fire Safety with White watch from Runcorn Fire Brigade

Before we burnt Pudding Lane one of the Firemen from White watch talked to us about how we stay safe in a fire and what to do in a fire. They were very impressed with all we knew on the subject.

After we had burnt Pudding Lane (which was incredibly exciting) we went and had a look at the fire engine. The firemen showed us the equipment they use and explained how/why they need it. It was thrilling to see the engine up close, and peek inside at the equipment.

We even had a demonstration of the breathing apparatus they use when entering a smoky building! 

Once we'd finished exploring and learning about the fire engine we got to clean the playground using one of the fire hoses! One of the firemen helped us hold it, also explaining how to use it.
