World Book Day

What an exciting day we had here in year 2!

Our day began with a stay and read with our family in the hall. If our family couldn't make it we had a special read in our classroom. We shared some lovely books with each other... Those from our class library and our 'favourite story /book from home' that Miss Oakley asked us to bring in.

We designed and made bookmarks for our books. We even had the chance to use them in class during our read.

We became World Book Day maths data detectives - sorting our books into groups and collecting data to then display in graphs and charts we made on the 2simple maths programme. We even wrote word problems for others to solve using the data we gathered!

At the end of our day we had 'story time' when we listened to stories read to us by our class staff... It was lovely to have a day exploring books.
